The farm may be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
Fall equinox came and went a few weeks ago, and we’re starting to see signs of fall at the farm. Nights are cooler, rain has returned, and change is in the air.
Leaves are starting to turn color and coat the ground. Weeds we treated a few weeks ago are yellowing, the ponds are full, and the pastures are greening up nicely.
Most of the walnuts have fallen from the tree, but the chestnuts are still ripening. We expect them to be falling by the end of the month.
We continue to prepare for winter. A gate is being installed on the driveway. We’ve sealed some leaks and secured a few loose shingles. The shorter and shorter days lend more urgency to completing our other fall chores!
