Our flagpole has an interesting story. It was one of the original steel flagpoles at the Lloyd Center in Portland. When those poles were replaced with aluminum poles, Roaring Creek Ranch got one of the old steel poles.
The mounting base was crafted by the previous owner, who also added lights to project up on the flags at night.
This flagpole is one of the most visible features of the farm. On our list of things to do is repainting the pole because it is getting a bit rusty. (Perhaps that’s why the Lloyd Center replaced their steel poles with aluminum ones!)
The previous owner is going to help us safely lower the flagpole, and when we’re done with painting and replacing fittings, he’ll help us stand it back up.
